Water main break near Kilmer Elementary School
A Village of Buffalo Grove water main broke in front of Kilmer Elementary School before the start of school on Wednesday, May 27. While the Village of Buffalo Grove has repaired the water main, a boil order remains in effect.

A normal school day is planned for staff and students at Kilmer on Friday, May 29. Toilets are in working order, and we will have bottled water for drinking and baby wipes for hand cleaning for all students and staff.

Middle School Principals Announced for 2015-2016
On May 21, 2015, the Board of Education named Luis Correa, the current assistant principal at London Middle School, to serve as principal at London beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. Luis is succeeding current London Middle School Principal Robert (Bob) Gurney, who was approved to be reassigned to serve as the principal of Cooper Middle School, also beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. Following the April 2015 Municipal Elections, the new School District 21 Board of Education was seated at its April 30, 2015, Board Meeting. With the retirement of Kathy Edmonds from the Board, the Board of Education had three individuals run for three open seats. Last Day of School for 2014-2015 Determined
As is done annually at the April Board of Education meeting, Board members voted to approve the final day of classes based on the number of emergency days that were used during this year. With four emergency days used this past winter, the 2014-2015 school year will end on Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

New School Leaders Announced
On Thursday, April 16, 2015, the Board of Education approved the hiring of  Mr. Adam Denenberg as our new Director of Information Services, Mr. Mike Frantini as our new Network and Systems Manager, and Mr. Mike Wheatley as the new Assistant Principal of Cooper Middle School. At the April Board of Education meeting, Board President Bill Harrison and Assistant Superintendent Lynn Glickman recognized 23 individuals retiring from the District.
