On Thursday, April 14, 2011, the Student Assistance Program in High School District 214 will be hosting its second annual parent symposium for the community to address current teen issues. The symposium entitled, What You Need to Know about Today's Teens, is free of charge and will be held at the Forest View Educational Center (2121 South Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights) from 6.30 until 9.00 PM.
If interested, it is requested that parents register for this event online at www.d214.org/registration or by calling 847.718.7499. Parents can choose to attend two of the four presentations. The presentations are intended to provide parents with knowledge and tools necessary to address issues related to teen substance abuse, depression/suicide, technology, and relationships/dating.
District 214 recognizes that no teen or family is immune to issues that arise in today's world. Parent education and community awareness are vital steps toward prevention.
